$ Wayfair Careers Remote $25/Hour, Wayfair is looking for experienced labor relations professionals to lead the company’s global strategic employee relations and independent workforce program.

This position requires a leader who has significant labor relations and employment/labor law experience, deep subject matter knowledge, and strong communication / interpersonal and critical thinking skills. 

As an influential and integral member of Wayfair’s labor and employment team, you will be tasked with primary ownership and execution of the company’s global strategy and proactive efforts to maintain an independent workforce.

Our team members are highly collaborative thought partners to our stakeholders, using both quantitative and qualitative data to drive business goals through our work. You will own and be responsible for leading a team in executing our global strategic engagement strategy.

What You’ll Do:

  • Execute the strategic components of the company’s global proactive and strategic engagement programs to help operational leaders foster a positive employee relations environment;
  • Serve as a trusted business partner to senior leaders and Talent Managers and their teams to create and sustain positive employee relations programs and best practices.
  • Identify and manage the implementation of data-driven strategies to identify strengths and opportunities on-site and on a macro level to support action planning;
  • Manage a team of Labor Relations professionals responsible for tactical implementation of Wayfair’s proactive employee relations and independent workforce program;
  • Travel to sites and develop relationships with on-site leaders to drive our independent workforce strategy, including by identifying strengths and opportunities on-site and on a macro level to support action planning;
  • Provide guidance and regular reports to Operations and Talent leaders regarding employee relations issues and strategies for effectively responding to potential organizing vulnerability or activity;
  • Keep apprised and report as appropriate on general labor relations trends and associated legal developments and rulings with potential impact on the company; 
  • Collaborate and support the work of Wayfair’s broader labor and employment team.

What You’ll Need :

  • Experience implementing and/or executing scalable strategies for promoting strong employee relations and maintaining an independent workforce, proactive employee relations, and organizing avoidance programs;
  • Demonstrated leadership experience and ability, including with respect to  overseeing employer responses to organizing activities and campaigns;
  • Experience managing a team of employee and/or labor relations professionals and working with organized workforces;
  • Ability to positively engage with and influence business leaders and key stakeholders, including senior management;
  • Ability to build productive relationships and collaborate/build connections with stakeholders, partners, and employees at all levels;
  • Ability to travel up to 30%-50% of the time or as needed;
  • Comfortable adapting to change and building out a team/program in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Highly preferred – J.D. degree and membership in at least one U.S. state bar;
  • 10+ years of experience in employee engagement and labor relations work;
  • Experience advising internal partners and/or clients on employment law-related issues;
  • Experience building out a proactive engagement strategy;
  • Experience working in the technology, retail, and/or e-commerce industries.
