Unskilled Jobs in New Zealand for Foreigners 2022, Crowne Plaza Christchurch is an IHG hotel located in the heart of downtown Christchurch, right opposite Victoria Square and just a short walk from major attractions, including the Avon River, Town Hall, Art Gallery, Te Pae Conference Centre, and the modern dining and shopping precincts.
 
Crowne Plaza Christchurch’s food and beverage offerings include Market Place restaurant breakfast and dinner, 1851 Social bar & lounge, High Tea, In-Room Dining, and our conferencing and events offering. That’s where you come in! We’re looking for a Barista to join our close-knit team.

Your day to day

We are on the lookout for an energetic, experienced barista with a great work ethic! We aspire to offer slick, smart, knowledgeable, and articulate service to our customers, whether it be a coffee business meeting, working lunch, or friends enjoying a relaxed a la carte meal.
 
A working understanding of coffee heritage, sourcing, brewing, and artistry would be advantageous, however, we believe that a positive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop are the key attributes as full training in relevant areas will be supplied to those successful in the role. Crowne Plaza Christchurch operates over breakfast, lunch, and dinner services, seven days a week, so flexibility is a must.

What we need from you

  • Barista experience
  • Ability to provide an outstanding customer service experience
  • Passion for coffee and coffee artistry
  • Knowledge of various hot and cold beverage recipes and espresso production
  • Outstanding communication skills, with both Front of House colleagues and the kitchen.
  • Set up, hand over, and pack down to protocol.
  • Payment processing.
  • Restaurants are set up and packed down in accordance with checklists
  • Attend training as required in addition to keeping on top of up-to-date training notes.
  • A valid New Zealand visa or residency is essential.
