Job Description

The role of the Transport and Bus Coordinator is to support the Fleet Manager in the performance of his duties. The employee assists the Feet Manager in the management of the daily operations of the bus transportation program within the Bechtel NEOM project.

The job was established for the purpose/s of informing staff and accommodation centers for Bechtel staff (Compounds/Camps/Hotels) and suppliers of transport services to establish bus routes and stops resolving transportation issues arranging transportation for special events.

Investigating transportation concerns relative to pick up locations and routing, and working to secure regular and substitute bus drivers. The employee is expected to resolve problems, escalating to the Fleet Manager, based on a go/no go matrix working within the project policy with regard to staff mobility and safety.

Education And Experience

  • A high school diploma or higher is required.
  • Prior transportation experience of a minimum of 10 years preferred
  • Experience in high-volume passenger transportation with supervisory and/or leadership experience

Essential Functions/Typical Tasks

  • Communicates with drivers, administrators, staff, and others (e.g., reviewing route maps, responding to inquiries, etc.) for the purpose of assisting with route-related problems.
  • Evaluates routes in coordination with Project Managers and for the purpose of finding bus routes in conformance with the Transport Plan while complying with Saudi Arabian laws including but not limited to National mass transportation laws and Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental Guidelines.
  • Participates in a variety of activities (e.g., meetings, training, etc.) for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform functions and safety requirements.
  • Gather and update bus movement data to show utilization and bus efficiency.
  • Maintain current transportation information for Exceptional and other specialized bus routes.
  • Offer transportation solutions to the teams.
  • Maintain transportation records for audits and inspections.
  • Conduct performance evaluations for assigned bus drivers and suppliers.
  • Fill out required reports as required.
  • Inspect assigned buses for cleanliness, condition of seats, vandalism, body damage, and inventory of first aid kits, fire extinguishers, and blood-borne pathogens kits.
  • Notify the mechanic of any mechanical problems reported.
  • Investigate bus accidents involving assigned buses and assist with the completion of an accident report.
  • Report road hazards, problems with bus stops, bus turnarounds, etc. to Transportation Manager.
  • Any other duties and responsibilities as assigned by Transportation Manager.

  • Ability to learn, interpret, and explain policies and regulations
  • Knowledge of general office practices and computer skills
  • Special Requirements Valid driver’s license, normal car license
