Job Description

An exciting and challenging opportunity has arisen to join a small, friendly and dedicated team within the Princess Anne Hospital as a Band 5 Staff Nurse/Nurse Practitioner progressing to a Band 6 on completion of competencies working closely with the multi-disciplinary team within the Early Pregnancy and Gynae Assessment Unit. This role is varied, interesting, and crucial to ensuring an excellent patient experience every step of the way. We are looking for a full-time, flexible employee who can support a service that is currently available to patients between 8.30 am – -7pm; currently, Monday to Saturday however evening and weekend work may be required in the future. You will be offered in-house training for all the areas as required. This demanding role offers the opportunity to develop a range of nursing and assessment skills and requires attention to detail, outstanding customer service skills, and a positive, patient-centered flexible approach.

Responsibility for Getting Nursing Jobs in UK:

  • The Early Pregnancy Unit is a very busy nurse-led outpatient clinic environment that has the remit to assess and advise women with complications arising in early pregnancy to 19+6 weeks pregnant and gynecological assessments.
  • The service works closely with the following outpatient areas and with the multi-professional team members:
  • Princess Anne Outpatients – a busy clinic serving a wide range of services including Breast, Gynaecology, and Maternity.
  • Bramshaw Women’s Unit and Day Surgery Unit.
  • Maternity Administration and dedicated women’s ultrasound services.
  • Hysteroscopy/Colposcopy Clinic – dedicated to the assessment and investigation of some gynecological conditions. Minor treatments are performed in an outpatient setting.
  • GP Surgeries.
  • Emergency Department.

  • Postgraduate Certificate/Degree within relevant specialty or evidence of CPD to Degree-level equivalence.
  • Physical and History Taking course.
  • Venesection and Cannulation.

Previous Or Relevant Experience Necessary

Essential Criteria:

  • Previous demonstrable experience within an acute health care setting.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Post-registration experience within Early Pregnancy and/or Gynaecology/Surgery
  • Motivated to undertake clinical skills to meet the units competency level
