Jobs For 16 Year Olds Near Me :: USA $16.20 an hour, The YMCA of the Pikes Peak region is looking for an enthusiastic, compassionate, and patient Learn & Play Associate, whose greatest passion is to see kids learn and grow, to join our Learn & Play team.
Each day, our Learn & Play Associates have the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of the children, creating joy in each child’s life by teaching through play and hands-on activities.
This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening the community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility.
The Learn & Play Associate will give leadership, direction, and supervision to children and participants in youth programs. You play a key role in ensuring that program participants have a safe, supportive, positive, interactive, and enriching program experience that welcomes and respects all individuals while providing programmed activities.
We are currently looking to fill positions at our First & Main, Southeast, and Briargate locations

  1. 8am-1pm – Monday-Friday

First & Main:

  1. 8am-1pm – Monday-Friday
  2. 4 pm-7 pm – Monday-Thursday
  3. 8:30am-11:30am – Saturday

South East:

  1. 8am-1pm – Monday-Friday
  2. 4:30 pm-7 pm – Monday-Thursday
  3. 8:30am-11:30am – Saturday
  • Minimum age of 16 years
  • Experience with children leading recreational activities preferred

  • Help prepare, plan and implement a weekly curriculum
  • Supervise and participate with participants during all large and small group activities.
  • Provide discipline for participants that are age appropriate and maintain respect for the child.
  • Possess a working knowledge of safety and emergency procedures and be able to exercise sound judgment.
  • Demonstrate proper care and storage of equipment and supplies.
  • Communicate effectively with all other staff, parents, and children.
  • Primary Responder for all accidents and incidents.
  • Supervise locker rooms and swim with children.
  • Complete routine and required forms to include but are not limited to attendance records, observation records, and incident and injury reports.
  • Prepare snacks or meals as assigned.
  • May be required to work hours outside of normal work schedule for training, extended program hours, PEAK, or association events.
