Intern, Human Resources

What You’ll Do

  • Provides support in functional areas of Human Resources, which may include coordination of tasks, operations under supervision, and optimizing current practices.
  • Assists in the collection of internal and external information for reports and statistical research, a key element being the onboarding process and setup.
  • Preparing and editing correspondence, reports, and presentations
  • Processes paperwork for the functional area according to established procedures
  • Work directly with key personnel to understand project concepts, objectives, and approach
  • Support and deliver a variety of HR tasks and projects
  • May suggest and assist with the implementation of process improvements and best practices in order to achieve departmental efficiencies and enhance service.
  • Other duties may be assigned as required.

What You’ll Bring

  • Enrollment in a degree or diploma in Human Resources, Business Administration or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 2 years of administrative experience is preferred.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Must possess tact, diplomacy, and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Strong customer service focus.
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task, prioritize and problem-solve.
  • Sound knowledge of federal and provincial employment legislation.
  • Good judgment and reasoning skills.
  • HRIS knowledge an asset (Taleo, JD Edwards, Oracle)
  • Attention to detail with good analytical skills.
