Assistant Accountant
Job Description
We see Equiti as a new breed of a broker, and we are on the lookout for talented individuals who can perform and excel in a dynamic and innovative working environment. Our Finance department would like to welcome a detail-oriented.
Assistant Accountant in our office in Nairobi, Kenya.
The role is responsible for day-to-day tasks in the Accounts Payable team.
Responsibilities
- Filing and documentation-ensuring all financial records are kept appropriately.
- Posting of invoices in the SAP system and supplier balance reconciliations.
- Payable and receivable schedules preparation and posting adjustments to the SAP system.
- Posting of entries to the SAP system.
- Bank and vendor reconciliation.
- Updating accruals and prepayment schedules.
- Maintenance of Fixed Assets Register and Movement schedules.
- Support both internal and external audits.
- Any other tasks that may be assigned from time to time.
- Keep accurate records of all daily transactions.
- Payment processing.
Skills & Competencies
- Excellent analytical skills.
- Strong financial and commercial acumen.
- Knowledge of computerized accounting packages (preferably SAP) and Microsoft office solutions.
- Well-developed commercial orientation and planning skills
- Arabic language skills as a preference
- Strong interpersonal and management skills.
- Understanding of accounting and financial management issues
Experience Requirements
- 2 years of professional experience in Financial Accounting.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting
- CPA(2) /ACCA
