As An Intermediate Civil Engineer, You Will Be

  • Utilizing your skill set to complete civil engineering designs for scopes on industrial projects including:
  • Plant site development earthworks
  • Stormwater pond design
  • Site drainage and stormwater management
  • Roadwork layout and design
  • Rough grade and finished grade design
  • Temporary facilities design
  • Underground utilities
  • Preparing and self-checking engineering calculations by hand and using computer software.
  • Prepare drawing markups for the Designer, backcheck, and be ready for project issues.
  • Developing and reviewing project specifications, including design criteria.
  • Develop Civil material quantity estimates.
  • Working as part of a multidisciplinary team to develop/deliver cost-effective and constructible designs.
  • Checking 2D design drawings and 3D models.
  • Participating in procurement, permitting, and subcontracting activities.
  • Completing other tasks as assigned.

Basic Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Registered, or eligible for registration, as a Professional Engineer with APEGA.
  • Six (6) to ten (10) years of civil engineering experience in the design of stormwater drainage, sanitary sewer collection, and grading projects in both brownfield and greenfield settings.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, OpenRoads, Microstation, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Familiarity with using water management software such as Civil storm is considered an asset.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors.
  • Driven to independently complete assigned tasks in a time-effective manner.
