To work under the direct or indirect supervision of the nursing staff, providing:
Assistance with patients’ overall care and safety
Support the team to deliver high-quality patient-centered care.
To abide by The London Clinic and unit philosophies.
To understand and follow the Clinic policies and procedures.
Acknowledge limitations and seek advice/support when necessary.
To work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
To assist with the maintenance of patient safety at all times.
Assist in delivering a high standard of holistic care to patients, recognizing their individuality, and promoting privacy and dignity.
Assist with patient hygiene, elimination, mobility, physical comfort, eating, and drinking, whilst observing and reporting specific changes.
Perform and report the clinical observation of patients including respiration rate, temperature, pulse, blood pressure, oxygen saturation, and fluid balance.
Observe and report changes in the patient’s condition to the named nurse/ nurse in charge.
Communicate effectively with the multidisciplinary team, patients, visitors, and other hospital departments.
Assist with the maintenance of ward cleanliness and adhere to The London Clinic policies relating to infection control.
Maintain confidentiality of patient, visitor, and staff information.
Participate in Unit/Clinic projects.
To be aware of, and comply with all relevant Clinic and unit policies and guidelines.
To receive and follow instructions on the correct and safe use of all equipment relevant to your job and the procedures for reporting faults with this equipment.
To assist with the maintenance of stock levels.
To be flexible in staffing situations where possible.
Carry out duties in an efficient and helpful manner to maximize the benefit for patients and visitors, colleagues, and self to promote the clinic and the unit.
To carry out delegated tasks recognize limitations of competence and decline any duties or responsibilities that you feel unable to perform in a safe manner.
To behave in a professional manner at all times.

Duties & Responsibilities:
As a Bank HCA, you will be responsible for the delivery of the highest standards of care and service to the patients.
Skills & Experience:
To have completed secondary education.
NVQ in Care Level 2.
Previous experience within a healthcare environment and dealing with the general public.
Excellent communication skills
Enthusiastic, well organized with a positive attitude towards flexibility and change.
Attend all mandatory training and keep skills up to date: CPR, Health & Safety at Work, Fire, Movement & Handling, Risk Assessment, and Infection Control.
To participate in as necessary any group or individual training sessions provided by the clinic.
To undergo training and competency testing and to maintain high standards.
To participate in your individual performance appraisal within the first three months of employment and annually thereafter according to the clinic policy.
To undertake other education & training relevant to the workplace or that which may be identified in the appraisal process.
Aim to achieve three monthly targets agreed upon with the line manager/ mentor.
Maintain and expand clinical knowledge and competence.
To understand and abide by the clinic’s Grievance and Disciplinary procedures.
To be proficient in the use of the clinic computer system.
To participate in departmental projects.
Health & Safety:
To know who is the Health & Safety representative for your area.
Be familiar with, and adhere to, the clinic policies relating to Health & Safety at Work, Fire, Movement & Handling, Risk Management, Infection Control, and COSHH.
To uphold the clinic’s legal requirement in relation to the above by attending mandatory updates.
To be competent in the use and storage of all equipment you agree to use in your department and promptly report any faults.
Maintain knowledge and competence and apply the principles of safe movement and handling to patients positioning and moving of equipment.
To maintain high standards of hygiene at all times and to adhere to the unit’s policies on infection control.
To undertake any other projects or duties commensurate with the grade of the post or at the request of the line manager.
To maintain the confidentiality of staff, patient, and visitor records and information received at all times, following the Data Protection Act (1998) and local policies and procedures.
