Operations Finance Business Partner

Job Description

The key role of the Operations Finance Business Partner is to help formulate and drive the profitability of the business whilst supporting the overall franchising strategy and influencing franchisee sentiment. To lead our Franchisee Directors, challenging where they place their financial focus and helping drive their strategy for the future of McDonald’s franchisees. The role touches on many different aspects of the business. This involves working closely with both Finance and non-Finance senior management to make recommendations that improve Franchisee financial performance and ensure the long-term financial success of both McDonald’s and the franchisees. We are looking for someone who wants to develop and progress their career at McDonald’s and has the ambition and ability to move into leadership roles both within our Finance team as well as the wider UK & Ireland and Global business.

What Will My Accountabilities Be

  • Business partner with three of our Franchisee Directors, owning the relationship between Finance and our Operations hierarchy and supporting the Franchisees within their regions
  • Build internal and external partnerships to ensure we’re gathering all of the information which will influence our recommendations for our Franchisee’s financials – from sales and revenue drivers, through all of our cost lines in the entire UK & Ireland business
  • Bring together these inputs to model the commercials for franchising new and existing restaurants to Franchisees.
  • Plan and support both short-term and long-term Franchisee affordability and the delivery of our long-term franchising strategy, ensuring franchisees are able to expand and grow and to provide financial support to those who need it.
  • Provide financial training and support to our Operations hierarchy as well as new and existing franchisees.
  • Work with the wider Finance team to support the annual financial planning process.

The Finance team has a history of developing people, creating a breadth of experience by moving individuals through different roles within the Finance team as they progress their careers at McDonald’s and ensuring high levels of exposure across the business.

What background do I need to have

  • Ability to work in a small team and lead amongst your peers
  • Self-motivated with good time management to manage conflicting priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail – Ability to breakdown problems whilst identifying trends and drawing conclusions
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills – ability to communicate sophisticated issues, adapting style for different audiences
  • Building relationships – ability to work cross-functionally, building strong relationships while challenging the status quo
  • Self-motivated, able to drive projects forward and improve processes
  • Excellent presentation skills – able to influence your presentations
  • CIMA, ACA, or ACCA qualified
  • Ambitious and looking for progression within the business
