Requirements for American Airlines Careers:

  • A high school diploma or GED equivalent required
  • College education or two years of customer service experience preferred
  • Must be able to make announcements, give emergency orders, and communicate in the English language
  • Must be at least 20 years of age
  • Must be in possession of a valid U.S. or Foreign Passport with applicable VISAs
  • Must possess the legal right to travel unrestricted to/from all states and countries that are served by American Airlines
  • Travel documents must remain valid throughout all phases of training and employment
  • Must have the legal right to work in the United States
  • Able to attend up to 6 1/2 weeks of unpaid training in Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas, and, if employed, move immediately to the city to which you are assigned as a base

To be eligible for a designated language speaker Flight Attendant position, you must:

  • Be fluent in the Italian language or another designated language
  • Successfully complete a language proficiency screening at a superior rating

  • Speaks the language with proper syntax and grammar structures, including complex verb structures and tenses, and proper agreement of tenses such as noun/pronoun, adjective agreement, etc.
  • Ability to comprehend up-to-date/new expressions and cultural nuances
  • Ability to tailor a message appropriately to the context (social, situational, or emergency)
  • Displays a broad range of vocabulary and appropriate references
  • Can read the language at an appropriate pace

Interview Question Answer for Flight Attendant:

1. What do you believe the primary responsibilities of the flight attendants on short- and long-haul flights are?

  • Your response can be summed up in one sentence. The primary responsibility of the cabin crew is to ensure the comfort and safety of the passengers from the time they board the aircraft until they disembark.
  • Alternately, you could say that the objective is to do all reasonable efforts to make their flight an unforgettable one. Alternatively, you can make a list of the chores you will be in charge of while working, such as providing directions regarding the safety of the passengers, delivering meals, and all other responsibilities. Depending on how long the flight is, the list changes slightly.

2. What qualities, in your opinion, make an excellent flight attendant today?

  • The characteristics of a great FA, in my opinion, haven’t altered all that much over the past fifty years. The qualities of a superb cabin crew member include remaining polite, paying attention to passengers’ wants and requests during the flight, and being prepared to manage any issue that might arise.
  • Of course, there are other qualities and abilities that may be mentioned here, such as great communication and listening skills in general, attention to detail, fluency in at least one foreign language, the capacity to swiftly identify problems, a passion for this line of work, and so on.

3. How many languages are you fluent in at the intermediate or above level?

  • It is best to not overstate your language abilities because you will frequently need to pass a written language test as part of the interview process. You can, however, always claim that you are improving your language abilities by reading books, taking courses, etc., or at the very least that you desire to learn different languages.
  • The goal is to demonstrate to them your willingness to excel as a flight attendant. Additionally, having individuals of all nationalities and languages on board is a big benefit while traveling to distant countries.

4. What would a normal day for a member of the cabin staff look like?

  • Each airline has a different policy on this. To learn more about the daily schedule and shift patterns, look for forums or the website of the specific airline.
  • How many hours do they fly each month? Where do they go to bed? What schedules are there? Do they also handle the responsibilities that must be done on the ground, such as checking boarding cards and letting passengers through the gate, or does that duty fall to another member of the staff?
  • In any event, you should constantly let them know that you take a proactive approach to your work and that you do not anticipate an easy ride while working for their firm as a flight attendant.
  • The hardest part, you might say, is dealing with aggressive or disrespectful passengers. Another possibility is that grinning and
